Samsung Electronics, a global leader in display technology, has announced the launch of the ‘Art Basel in Basel (ABB) 2026 Collection’—a curated digital exhibition available exclusively on Samsung Art Store. This initiative showcases 24 works by Swiss and Switzerland-based artists, representing eight prestigious galleries participating at Art Basel in Basel 2026, scheduled from June 18-21 in Switzerland.
Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, emphasizes the significance of Basel in the art world, stating, “Through our longstanding partnership with Art Basel, we are helping customers turn their screens into a personal space for discovering, displaying, and living with art.” This statement underscores Samsung’s commitment to integrating art into everyday living spaces through advanced display technology.
Insights into the ABB 2026 Collection
The ABB 2026 Collection includes contributions from galleries such as Mai 36, von Bartha, Skopia, and Blue Velvet from Switzerland, alongside Fanta MLN, Hoffmann Donahue, Lars Friedrich, Sans titre, and Felix Gaudlitz. The collection focuses on three notable Swiss-born artists:
- Thomas Huber: Known for “16.7.2024,” Huber merges image and text, exploring visual and philosophical aspects of painting.
- Tobias Kaspar: Through “The Japan Collection,” Kaspar bridges art and fashion, examining value systems and consumer desires.
- Athene Galiciadis: In “Stillleben (Reflection on longings and belongings),” Galiciadis combines geometric and organic forms, referencing craft, design, science, and spirituality.
Maike Cruse, Director of Art Basel in Basel, commented, “This collection reflects the richness, diversity, and vitality of the region while reinforcing our commitment to connecting regional scenes with a global audience.”
Samsung Art Store Experience at Art Basel
The Art Basel event will feature an immersive Samsung Art Store installation, demonstrating how art can transcend traditional gallery spaces. Visitors will experience a gallery-style Art Wall, showcasing Samsung’s 2026 Art TV range, including Micro RGB, OLED, The Frame Pro, and The Frame, with works tailored to attendees’ preferences.
Additionally, Samsung will collaborate with visual artist Daniel Arsham, the new Art TV ambassador. Arsham’s custom bezel for The Frame Pro transforms the TV into a sculptural piece, with on-screen art inspired by natural patterns, enhancing the viewer’s experience.
Curated Art for Modern Living Spaces
Offering over 5,000 artworks in 4K from more than 800 artists, Samsung Art Store is a subscription service available across Samsung’s 2026 Art TV lineup. This platform provides access to museum and gallery-quality pieces, allowing users to integrate art seamlessly into their living environments.
As the leader in the global TV market for two decades, Samsung continues to innovate in display technology, ensuring art is presented with superior clarity, color accuracy, and detail. The ABB 2026 Collection exemplifies this commitment, offering curated art experiences to a global audience.
