Google Health: Advancing to Enhance Your Well-being

When we launched the new Google Health app, Health Coach, and Fitbit Air just a few months ago, our aim was clear: to transform health technology from a disjointed, reactive data-tracking system into a proactive, personalized tool for daily life.

The initial response has been remarkable, with Fitbit Air attracting a wave of new users and expanding the reach of Google Health. However, this was merely the starting point. We recognized the necessity of constant improvement and innovation to ensure our app and personalized coaching remain as impactful and useful as possible. Over recent months, we have concentrated on closely listening to feedback, leading to 10 releases and 55 feature updates in pursuit of enhancing our services over time.

We understand that genuine progress integrates seamlessly into daily life: it involves meeting you in your current situation, adapting to your routine, and continuously advancing. Today, we make our next significant move across our devices, software, and ecosystem.

Introducing Google Fitbit Edge

The Fitbit Edge represents a significant advancement in both design and performance. Positioned between the lightweight simplicity of Fitbit Air and the powerful Pixel Watch 5, the Fitbit Edge is crafted for active lifestyles, providing real-time guidance at a glance and serving as an on-wrist portal to the Google Health Coach.

Enhancements to Fitbit Air

We’ve enhanced Fitbit Air by introducing passive cardiometabolic trend tracking with Health Guardian features and improving activity detection accuracy for over 100 workouts. Our aim is to make tracker experiences smarter, more proactive, and fully integrated within our platform to handle the complexity so you don’t have to. New Metal Mesh Fitbit Air bands also expand styling options, turning your everyday tracker into a piece of elegant jewelry.

Advancements in Women’s Health

Understanding that health is unique across different bodies and life stages, we have partnered with Flo Health, the leading female health app, to incorporate critical cycle, pregnancy, and menopause guidance directly into our app and Coach. This effort is complemented by pioneering research into this underserved and often generalized population.

Welcoming New Talent to Google Health

We are excited to welcome exceptional new leaders, researchers, and innovators to join Performance Advisor Stephen Curry on the Google Health team. This will accelerate our mission and stretch the boundaries of what health technology can achieve.

Health is complex, personal, and deeply human. While we don’t have all the answers yet, we are committed to engaging every day, learning from you, and continuously refining our tools to help you live a longer, healthier life.
