Gemini Notebook is introducing new usage limits focused on computing flexibility, offering users greater control over their workflows. Users can still access their favorite features, but now have more options to manage their usage and tasks.
The refreshed limits, which reset every five hours instead of daily, allow uninterrupted work throughout the day. Users’ overall usage limits are influenced by several factors such as prompt complexity, chat length, number of sources, and the features utilized. This will help users budget their computing resources more effectively.
The notebook will monitor usage and suggest alternative outputs if the initial choice exceeds the limit. When limits are reached, users can postpone generating outputs like Video Overviews or Slide Decks, which will be created automatically later. Notifications can be set up to alert users as soon as these outputs are ready.
These updates are being rolled out to consumer accounts on both web and mobile platforms starting September 2.
