Apple reveals August schedule for ‘Friday Night Baseball’

Apple, in collaboration with Major League Baseball (MLB), has released the schedule for August’s “Friday Night Baseball,” which features a weekly doubleheader streamed each Friday on Apple TV throughout the regular season of 2026. Subscribers of Apple TV in 60 countries and regions can access two prominent matchups every week, complete with enhanced production quality and expert commentary, all without local broadcast restrictions.

The August lineup spotlights significant games, including the continuation of two of baseball’s legendary rivalries. On August 14, rising star Jordan Walker and the St. Louis Cardinals will face three-time All-Star Alex Bregman and the Chicago Cubs in an afternoon showdown. Later, on August 28, the iconic rivalry between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox will resume as the Yankees play host.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the reigning American League Champion Toronto Blue Jays will reenact their memorable 2025 postseason on “Friday Night Baseball,” featuring a Division Series rematch against the Yankees on August 14 and a Championship Series encounter with Julio Rodríguez and the Seattle Mariners on August 28.

August will also showcase multiple appearances by leading teams, including the American League West frontrunner Seattle Mariners and the top team in the American League East, the Tampa Bay Rays, each scheduled to appear twice during the month on “Friday Night Baseball.”

For the fifth consecutive season, the games will feature commentary by broadcast teams including Wayne Randazzo (play-by-play), Dontrelle Willis (analyst), and Heidi Watney (sideline reporter) alongside Alex Faust (play-by-play), Ryan Spilborghs (analyst), and Tricia Whitaker (sideline reporter), with Rich Waltz joining to call select games. Announcer assignments for each game will be disclosed weekly. The pregame shows will be hosted by Lauren Gardner, former MLB All-Star Eric Hosmer, and insider Russell Dorsey.

Viewers in the U.S. and Canada can also choose to listen to home and away local radio broadcasts during the games. “Friday Night Baseball” is brought to the screens by MLB Network’s Emmy Award-winning production team in partnership with Apple’s live sports production team, with the initial game of each weekly doubleheader presented by Essilor.

Apple TV subscribers can stream “Friday Night Baseball” via the Apple TV app on devices such as iPhone, iPad, Apple TV 4K, Apple Vision Pro, Mac, and various popular smart TVs including those from Samsung, LG, Sony, and more.
